RBEG-funded Infrastructure Improvement Project Completed - MCDC completed significant infrastructure improvements in the Eagle Pass Industrial Park. The project was funded through the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development Rural Business Enterprise Grant (RBEG) which was awarded to MCDC in 2000. The improvements included the development of a truck route to allow for improved transportation access through the Industrial Park. Other improvements were new lighting, roadway pavement, storm drain pipes, curb and gutter and fire protection with the addition of five fire hydrants. The grant also supports the establishment of a Revolving Loan Fund to assist businesses located in the Industrial Park.
M&B Hangers Purchase Property; New Distribution Center is completed - An important accomplishment in 2006 was the sale of property located in the Eagle Pass Industrial Park to M&B Hangers of Leeds, Alabama. The family-owned company operates a production plant located in Piedras Negras, Coahuila in addition to their Alabama location. A distribution center warehouse was completed and is operating on Industrial Boulevard. MCDC assisted M&B Hangers with the development process of the 35,000 square foot warehouse. The location of M&B Hangers in the Eagle Pass Industrial Park has resulted in new jobs for Eagle Pass with the potential for future growth.
Hamar Enterprises, Inc. Distribution Center Broke Ground; New Warehouse is completed - Hamar Enterprises, Inc. purchased land in the Eagle Pass Industrial Park in 2005. In 2006, a 22,500 square foot warehouse began development in the Eagle Pass Industrial Park and is now completed. This warehouse will allow Hamar Enterprises to expand its operations in Eagle Pass and continue to distribute telecommunications and electro-mechanical products.
The purpose of this property is to attract industry and job creation for Eagle Pass/Maverick County.
